Last night my wife and I were discussing all the many things that I've done to the Jeep. She thought that it would be really cool if I was to make a list of the things that I've done to it along with the amount of money that I've spent. So here is the list and I know that I will forget some of the stuff that I've done to it...
- 1976 Jeep CJ5 purchase price $3000
- Fuel sending unit $25
- New oil fill cap $2
- New motor mounts $10
- Off road lights $30
- Roll on bed liner for interior $45
- Stereo system w/ 4 speakers $300 (not installed yet)
- Woody style hard to designs $25
- Handy Man jack $35
- Jack mounting kit $20
- Heater vent cover $10
- Bed liner on exterior $700
- New front fender $280
- New window frame $160
- 2 new window and glass gaskets $60
- Bolt on bumper Receiver Hitch $25
- 7 pole trailer plug. $25
Well thats all that I can think of right now that I have purchased for the jeep including the jeep which gives me a total cost of... $4752.00
Not bad concidering that the Jeep only has 43,000 miles. I couldn't go out and buy a newer used one for what I have into this one! I love it.
Things to follow for the Jeep in the future:
- New wiring harness
- A completed Hard Top
- New seats
- New Carpet kit
- New suspension kit from Hell Creek Suspension
- And what ever I decide to do with it after that!
With all of that I'm guessing that I will be spending about another $1,500.00 but it's worth it!
